Unless you enjoy the idea of spending hundreds on replacing your RV tires every couple of years, investing in a set of high-quality RV tire covers that are waterproof and are UV resistant will go a long way to increasing the lifespan of your RVS tires.
When your RV, camper, or trailer sits for months at a time, the rubber of the tires is exposed to harsh environmental elements. This exposure to the weather can drastically decrease the longevity of your tires.
Many people go above and beyond to cover their RV but often forget about protecting the vulnerable rubber on the tires. After UV exposure day after day, your tires will succumb to dry rot.
I hear it time and time again, "But these tires have great tread left on them and look almost brand new, why are the cracked so badly?" The simple answer is, they were not protected. Moisture and harsh UV rays can quickly deteriorate rubber when it is left exposed.
The good news is, this 4 pack of RV tire covers are waterproof and UV reflective. These covers ensure the elements that cause dry rot on your tires will shorten the lifespan of your tires.
It's all well and good that these RV tire protectors reflect the harmful UV rays and protect the rubber from excessive exposure to water, but they would be rendered useless if they couldn't stay on your tire.
One of the truly beneficial features of the iClover tire cover set is that each cover comes with the bungee cord and hook system. Without this, the tire covers would fly off your tire during the first presence of strong wind.
To install the covers, it couldn't get any easier. You position the cover over your tire, reach in behind the wheel with and grab the hook attached to the bungee cord. Reach around the other side of the tire and grab the opposing hook.
Now hook the two hooks together and presto, you tire covers aren't going anywhere. The process of hooking the two hooks together tightens the bungee style strap to provide a nice snug fitting over the tire. No loose covers flapping in the wind here.
Does The Kit Include A Storage Bag?
Yes, the 4 wheel covers can be folded down to a nice small and portable size and stored in the included carry bag.
Will These Covers Fit My RV?
The easiest thing you can do is measure the diameter of your tire and if the diameter is between 27" - 29", they will fit. If this is not possible, visit tiresize.com and scroll down to "Tire Sizes By Diameter". Select 27", 28" or 29" and see if your tire is listed there. The numbers you are looking for will be presented on the side of your existing tire.
When Measuring The Diameter, Do You Measure From The Rim Up?
No, ensure your tires are inflated and measure from one external edge of the tire to the opposite edge. If it falls between 27"-29", you're good to go.
If My Tire Measures Just Over 29", Will These Fit?
Think of it like buying clothing. If the size is too small for you, why try and squeeze into it. Just get a larger size tire cover. You can make a cover fit easier when it is larger than the tire and not the other way around. Even a tire that measures 29" on the dot, would be easier to put a 30" cover over it rather than the 29".
I Am Light Sensitive, Will The Reflection Hurt My Eyes?
The aluminum in the cover is used to reflect the UV rays and not the actual light from the sun. It is not like shining a torch on a mirror, they are more of a vinyl finish than a gloss finish.
Can I Hook The Straps To Something Under The Rv?
If you find it difficult to reach behind the tire to hook the straps together, you can strap it to the bottom of your RV. Provided you are strapping it to something strong and not brittle. If it is not strong winds, it is not always necessary to use the straps, especially on short stays.
